Does DART work globally?

Yes, the flexible architecture of DART allows an organisation to monitor and report on usage of remote sites from a central location. DART can be implemented so that each business centre has autonomy over day-to-day management of permissions and the ability to access reports at the local site.

At Harco we are proud to have seven of the world's ten largest banks as users of our DART product. Obviously, these multinational organisations have trading floors in most major cities. Some of them leverage the distributed technology of DART to implement a truly global usage reporting system.

This flexibility gives our current clients the ability to implement the following business processes:

Monitor standards across an organisation and identify trends in how market data is being used
Conduct global review projects and audits from a single location
Track a user as he/she moves between locations
Conduct user profiling
Use DART to query multiple distributed DACS/TIB systems and populate/update a global cost inventory system with all user and service information

A DART server has the ability to connect to multiple databases. These databases can be anywhere on the client's WAN - London, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Sydney. Each of these locations may have its own entitlement/usage system (DACS or TIB). DART can be configured with these systems to allow an organisation to report on all of these offices from any other office. A global reporting system must be simple to install and manage yet flexible enough to take account of changes in business requirements or operational structure.
